2016 Yeti Cycles SB5 Carbon - FRAME - Lime
** 2016 CURRENT STOCK NEW SPECIAL PRICE **
** LAST FEW AVAILABLE **
Well this is it Yeti Fans the long awaited Yeti SB5 featuring the Yeti / Fox Collaboration suspension system Infinity.
Those talented designers have produced their own interpretation of what a trailbike should be and come up with the Yeti SB5 Carbon - Lightweight, Great Pedaling uphill and a screamer going down....the New Yeti SB5 will make you smile for sure!
Yeti have taken all they learned about there popular Switch Technology and merged it with our bump smashing 303 Rail Technology to come up with a completely new suspension design called Switch Infinity and fitted it to there brand new 2015 model the Yeti Cycles SB5 Carbon.
This new system allows the suspension to achieve seemingly contradictory characteristics. In the early stage of the travel it displays superior pedaling efficiency and excellent small bump sensitivity. As you move deeper into the travel, it is well supported and responds effortlessly to square edge hits.
What does that mean from a rider’s perspective on the Yeti SB5? You can hammer away in all conditions on the Yeti SB5, including rough, chunky ascents with zero loss in efficiency. You don’t get knocked off-line, and you have amazing traction. Point it down and it’s very fast. The controlled mid-stroke keeps the bike composed through rough terrain and g-outs, while allowing it to open up when encountering bigger hits deeper in the travel, oh yes the new Yeti SB5 will tackke everything the rider dares.
Yeti cycles geometry has always been progressive and mirrors our gravity-influenced riding style — long top tube, low bottom bracket, and slack head angle. This allows the bike to achieve great front to rear balance when descending. When pounding the pedals uphill, you’ll appreciate the seat tube has been moved forward a bit to put the rider in the optimum pedaling position. It feels right from the moment you get on it.
And here’s the bell ringer — the 2015 Yeti SB5 Carbon frame weighs just 5.1 pounds and is very stiff, so you can hold your line no matter how hard you push.

ASK US A QUESTION OR PICK ONE FROM THE LIST BELOW...
What is SWITCH INFINITY Technology?
SWITCH INFINITY utilises a patented translating pivot that switches direction as the bike moves through its travel. This provides excellent anti-squat characteristics for superior pedalling performance and ideal suspension characteristics as it gets deeper into the travel.
Does the SWITCH INFINITY system require maintenance?
The fully sealed SWITCH INFINITY mechanism has external grease ports to lube the bushings and seals. Yeti and development partner Fox Racing Shox recommend a lubrication interval of 40 hrs of riding. It is important not to over lube the system and adhere to the recommended interval.
Can I run a stealth seat-post dropper on the Yeti SB5 C?
Yes. The Yeti SB5 C has routing options for both stealth and non-stealth seat post droppers.
What is the max size single-chainring that fits on the Yeti SB5 C?
The Yeti SB5 C can accommodate up to 38T single-chainring.
What crank/bottom bracket combinations can I use on the Yeti SB5 C?
The Yeti SB5 C’s bottom-bracket standard is PF30 [73mm] and most narrow “q” factor cranks are compatible. If you want to use standard spindle cranks Yeti recommends the following bottom-bracket adaptors: (1) Praxis PF30 Adapter SRAM (2) Praxis PF30 Adapter Shimano.
*Sram XX (2-ring or 3-ring) PF30 cranks are NOT compatible, due to non-drive crank clearance.
How big of a tire can I fit on the Yeti SB5 C?
There is great tire clearance on the Yeti SB5 C but tire sizes vary widely by manufacturers, so it's hard to give a number that works for all tires. The short answer is the Yeti SB5 C can accept up to a 2.4" tire.
Does the Yeti SB5 C have ISCG mounts?
The Yeti SB5 C has optional removable ISCG ’05 mounts.
Why are there composite frame guards on the Yeti SB5 C?
The Yeti SB5 C has great impact resistance, but we have added composite frame guards to the Yeti SB5 C frame for additional protection against the gnarly terrain this bike will allow you to tackle.
What type of shock does the SB5C use?
The Yeti SB5 C uses a 2.0” stroke, 7.875” eye-to-eye shock. Fox Racing Shox, of course.
Can I put a coil shock on my Yeti SB5 C?
Yes. The Yeti SB5 C is designed for use with air or coil shocks.
What travel fork is the Yeti SB5 C designed to use?
The Yeti SB5 C is designed to run a 140mm or 150mm travel fork. Running a 150mm travel fork gives the bike a slacker head angle and a higher bottom bracket. For more detailed information check out the geometry section of the menu.
What type of front derailleur does the Yeti SB5 C use?
The Yeti SB5 C uses a D-Type, Shimano top-pull front derailleur. The Yeti SB5 C is NOT compatible with Shimano dual-pull D-type or any SRAM D-type front derailleurs.
What size seat post does the Yeti SB5 C use?
The Yeti SB5 C uses a 30.9mm seat post and has cable guides for a dropper seat post if you are so inclined.
What size seat collar does the SB5C use?
The Yeti SB5 C uses a 35.0mm seat collar.
What rear wheel axle fits on my Yeti SB5 C?
The Yeti SB5 C is designed to work exclusively with a Shimano 142x12mm rear axle. The frame’s rear triangle has been optimised for stiffness and weight with this specific axle.
What type of headset does the Yeti SB5 C use?
The Yeti SB5 C uses an Inset (also referred as ZeroStack) 44mm/56mm tapered headset. This system allows for the press-in cups and bearings to be contained inside the head tube for an overall lower ride height and even more increased stiffness. For more information regarding headset fit and nomenclature visit bicycleheadsets.com.
How big of a rotor will fit on the frame?
The Yeti SB5 C has a direct mount rear brake tab and can run a 160mm rotor without the need for a brake adaptor. With the use of a brake adaptor the frame can accept up to a 185mm rotor.
What is the warranty on my Yeti SB5 C?
The Yeti SB5 C has a 5-year manufacturers warranty.
