The detail on this model really is quite stunning, from the cloth fully rigged sails through to the tackle on the hull
The detailing on the sails includes some intentional aging on the cloth which further adds to the authenticity of this lovely model
The "Alarm" was built in Lymington in 1830, she was a 193 tonnes cutter designed by Thomas Inman for Joseph Weld, owner of Lulworth Castle
Alarm won the King's Cup in 1830 beating Mr Maxse's Miranda, in 1831 beating Lord Belfast's Louisa and in 1832 beating the Duke of Norfolk's Arundel. |
