A beautiful Art Deco sterling silver butterfly wing ring. These are very rare to find now in ring form as they were frequently damaged by hand washing. This one is made by one of the most collectable butterfly wing jewellery makers Thomas L. Mott, who instigated the fashion for butterfly wing jewellery after exhibiting at the British Empire Exhibition of 1924. He produced this this type of butterfly wing jewellery in the 1920's-30's, usually with the wing of a morpho tropical butterfly . The blue background is a real butterfly wing and the beach scene is skillfully hand painted on the inside of the glass dome. Stamped inside the band with "TLM", "Sterling" and "England".
