Age / Size: L7 date code means 1957 production date / 27.75mm wide not including the original BULOVA signed crown by 37.75mm lug to lug.  The watch comes on a period correct J.B. Champion solid / scissor link style bracelet on it that will allow the watch to fit most any wrist size up through 7 5/8 inches or more.

Case Condition:  This case rates right around EXCELLENT and the accompanying high grade J.B. Champion bracelet rates the same condition- EXCELLENT.  Please see the photos- this watch has NOT been cleaned up and polished in a LONG TIME if ever, and it still looks great!!

Case Metal: 10K yellow Rolled Gold Plate for the whole case.  The bracelet has 10K Yellow gold filled tops

Dial Condition: This ORIGINAL dial rates only VERY GOOD because of the edge wear to the dial.  The edge wear is not a big distraction on this watch because the case and bracelet are in such SUPERB condition.  

Movement Type:  Bulova Caliber 11 AC with 17 Jewels Swiss Made manual winding

Working / Non-Working: This watch does wind and set the time smoothly and the watch has kept time about TWO minutes FAST over the 47+ hours that I have tested the watch sitting here on my desk.  Note the extraordinary test time duration- I stayed over at a hotel around the 30 hour mark and re-wound all the watches that I had testing at that point to keep the test going.  That’s a SUPERB timekeeping test result for a watch just coming out of long term storage with an unknown service history.  I do not own or use a digital diagnostic tool that gives exact seconds of timekeeping error per 24 hours- this watch was tested simply by being set against my computer clock and then checking back later on against the same clock- there can be some small error built into such testing.  

Extra’s: Here for your bidding pleasure is one of the NICER examples of a 1957 Bulova GEDNEY model that you ever will find!!  The CASE on this watch is really in SUPERB condition and earns a RARE legitimate “EXCELLENT” rating- rare for the age of the watch and even RARER for this case design.  I pass on 9 out of 10 or 19 out of 20 Gedney examples that I find because the contours of the case made for gold finish wear issues that are hard to ignore if the watch was used for any significant period of time.  THIS EXAMPLE has obviously hardly been used, the gold finish on the case AND period correct (and very expensive) J.B. Champion solid / scissor link bracelet are both outstanding condition.  The dial is original and showing some wear along some of the edges- NOT a big distraction given how AWESOME the case and bracelet are.  This watch does wind/set the time smoothly and has run and kept time about TWO minutes FAST over my 47 hour timekeeping test- a FINE timekeeping result for a “first run” since coming out of long term storage in a private collection!!  This watch is priced to $ELL with a ROCK BOTTOM low opening bid and there is NO RESERVE!!! Try finding a NICER Bulova Gedney on ebay or the whole rest of the internet- I don’t think that you will……..  DO NOT miss out!!
