Vintage film lenses offer your portraits, candid photography, social documentary, fine art, landscape and street photography a cinematic look, and are very affordable compared to their digital counterparts. Their unique image rendering characteristics and slight imperfections are what give them the warmth and charm that some say is missing from digital photography.
DESCRIPTION
1.- Lens is in good cosmetic and working condition, clean. Front glass is clean, no haze or scratches, no mold or fungus, just some inner dust/specks but you won't see them in your photos (see samples bellow). The 6 aperture blades are snappy and oil free. Focus and aperture rings turn smoothly. There's a minor dent around the filter thread but it can still take 49mm filters. No cracks or broken parts, minor scratches/scuffs here and there. Made in Japan, S/N 100027.
2.- Rear cap included.
What an obscure gem! Fantastic little lens, focus is silky smooth, great contrast, very good in low light and street photography. Most current AF auto-focus lenses run into hundreds of dollars, imagine getting a F/1.8 50mm prime lens at a fraction of that. The images bellow were taken with this lens and a Canon DSLR in a few minutes walk, just think what you can get with more practice!
Lens has a M42 mount and, with the right adapter (not included), fits most DSLR and micro 4/3 cameras. There is no auto-focus but adjusting the focus and aperture rings in the front is not that difficult and gets easier and easier with practice.
The following pictures were taken with this lens attached
to a Canon DSLR camera using a "M42 to Canon EF adapter" (not included). No tripod or flash were used, all pictures were taken handheld, no auto-focus of course.
