Olympus M.Zuiko 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO Lens,

and Olympus M.Zuiko MC-14 PRO 1.4x Teleconverter

For Micro Four-Thirds systems

I purchased this 40-150mm PRO Lens and 1.4x Teleconverter [New, in the UK] to complement my E-M1 Body, and my existing 12-40mm PRO Lens. I have to admit that it was a contest between this Lens and the similarly-new Olympus 7-14mm Ultra-Wide-Angle PRO Lens, but thinking that I would eventually get both of them, I opted for the 40-150 as the first purchase, more out of curiosity than anything else, having read the amazing reviews of the quality of it online.

My problem with having made this decision is that being predominantly a Landscape and Architecture photographer, I have since wished I that I had bought the 7-14mm first instead. Then we decided to move home, and any thoughts of owning both of these lenses, at least In the short-term, have disappeared.

So I have taken the decision to sell the 40-150mm and get the 7-14mm instead. I have of course tried the 40-150 for some test shots, and it is every bit as impressive as all of the many excellent reviews had led me to believe it would be. But apart from those few test images, it is in the same brand-new, complete condition that I received it in (purchased New, in the UK).

There are so many excellent reviews of it online, extolling its constant f/2.8 aperture, sharpness and absence of problems like the chromatic aberrations (that plague lesser-quality lenses in this zoom range), that there seems little point in me going through its technical specifications and many superb features here as well.  Have a look at the many online reviews for the Lens and Teleconverter (Robin Wong's reviews are a particular favourite of mine, usually with lots of test images), but if you have any questions, please contact me.

The 1.4x Teleconverter effectively turns the 40-150mm into a 56-210mm Lens [or 112-420mm, if you like to think in terms of 35mm-equivelence], providing amazing 'reach' for those elusive wildlife, architecture etc. shots.

What I will just confirm is what, in addition to the actual Lens and Teleconverter, you will be receiving:

The 40-150mm Lens, comes complete with:

  • The large Lens Hood, with its very clever design of sliding back down the lens and out of the way, when it is not being used [a superb Pro-implementation  of this idea]
  • A pinch-type Front Lens Cap
  • A twist-on Rear Lens Cap
  • The Tripod-Mount Collar, which can rotate right around the lens' barrel, and be locked in place at any position [ideal, when switching from Landscape to Portrait, or just getting the lens settings positioned where it suits you]
  • A very sturdy draw-string-type Pouch-Case (some form of canvas and leather, I would think)

The 1.4x Teleconverter, comes complete with:

  • A twist-on Front Lens Cap [specifically designed for this Teleconverter]
  • A twist-on Rear Lens Cap
  • A very sturdy Zipped Pouch-Case (canvas), with a large Clip attached to it, making it very easy to carry the MC-14 attached to your Bag, Case, Strap etc

Plus, the Manuals and other Documentation, Box and all of the Packing Materials, for the Lens and Teleconverter

It is all in incredibly-good 'out-of-the-box' condition (I am very fussy about using and storing my camera kit anyway, and this has only been used the once for some test-shots)

Actually, a couple of specifications that I will mention are:

  • It has a 72mm Filter Ring
  • It has the Manual/Auto Clutch-Mechanism Focus-Ring, which is such a superb element of the design of all of the Olympus M.Zuiko PRO-series lenses
  • And of course the constant (throughout the zoom range) very-bright maximum f/2.8 Aperture

It's a stunning piece of kit, which I shall be very sorry to lose, but my rather rash, impulse-buying, is your bargain!

Delivery would be by Royal Mail Parcels - FREE for UK Mainland (or Internationally using the eBay Global Shipping Programme).  For the UK, but outside of the Mainland, please contact me for shipping costs.

[Please note that the Protective-Filter fitted to the Lens, and shown in the photographs, is NOT included in the sale. I just forgot to remove it before taking the photos]

I also have for sale:

  • a 'like-new' Samyang Micro Four-Thirds (4/3) 7.5mm f/3.5 Fisheye Lens (only selling, because the 7-14mm PRO Lens will also replace this lens)
