Up for sale is a PRISTINE GEM SET ENAMEL GILT SWISS PAIR CASE VERGE FUSEE ANTIQUE POCKET WATCH CIRCA 1780


The watch has just been cleaned and serviced and the movement is in perfect working condition. It runs to the end of the chain very smoothly and keeps very good time.


It is a lovely pair cased pocket watch with an original unrestored and 100% genuine enamel mint scene of a lady on the back side, set with white gem stones on the front and on the back around the enamel portrait.  


 The movement is a full plate fire gilt verge fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved cock. Plain three arm balance wheel with steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial. Baluster pillars. The movement is signed : Bordier, Geneve. ( an eminent Swiss watchmaker ) And numbered: 36505.


 White enamel near mint dial ( tiny chip next to the number 7 ) with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes  - it is a 100% original dial. The dial is also signed: Bordier, Geneve. Ornamented hands with white gem stones.

 

Inner case: near mint condition, numbered 36505 - same number as the movement. 32 mm.

Outer case: mint condition with the beautiful enamel lady portrait scene on the back, set with white gem stones. The front bezel is also covered with the white gem stones. No stones are missing and everything is in super and spectacular condition. 38 mm.

 

This is a very rare and spectacular pocket watch that is very hard to find. The watch weighs 60 grams.
