A very cool and currently trending vintage Croton Nivada Grenchen Aviator Sea Diver Chronograph. The owner of this watch was supposed to race, drive, fly, and engage in all kinds of adventure. The watch works great and is likely to be a great investment, but I am selling a few of my watches to fund a grail purchase.
This is a 1960s - 70s Croton Nivada Grenchen Aviator Sea Diver Chronograph. The case is 38.5 mm without the crown, so it sits nice and large on the wrist. It comes with a brand new vintage leather strap (20mm lugs). The watch has a recent service courtesy of a reputable San Francisco watchmaker. It has a Venus 210 movement, which is a lot easier to service than the Valjoux. It keeps good time and the chronograph works well and resets exactly to 12. The dial is original, as are the hands. It shows some patina, but it is still very well preserved and clean. Most of them out there have water, oil, or damage that makes the dial unreadable. The tritium hands no longer glow. Crystal and case are presentable, but not perfect after 40 years, please take a look at the pics.
The watch comes from an estate of a local collector. I have enjoyed this piece, but it is time to let someone else enjoy this rapidly appreciating chronograph.
