The Larrivee OO-40 Pearl Edition acoustic guitar is an exquisite example of the artistry and craftsmanship that Larrivee brings to each of their hand-built instruments.
This stunning American-made model combines beautiful woods and custom appointments with superb playability and exquisite tonality. It features a solid Sitka spruce top for excellent dynamics and articulation, while providing a brilliant top end. The spruce is lovely and tight-grained; covered in a natural coat to allow this beauty to come through and giving this guitar a very vintage look.
The back and sides are mahogany for the classic spruce on mahogany acoustic voice. All surfaces are bound with super-white maple, and the herringbone purfling is timeless. The soundhole rosette features a ring of supremely rainbowed abalone between two rings of 3-ply.
The use of exquisite abalone is mirrored by the Art Deco floral torch inlay on the headstock face. The tortoise shell pickguard completes the antique aura of this wonderful instrument.
The one-piece mahogany neck features a fretboard of slick African ebony adorned with elegant diamond markers, and the ebony bridge compliments the fingerboard perfectly.
