ITEM DESCRIPTION:

Vintage VEAC Metal First Aid Box, Red Cross Bandage Gauze Cotton Lot, Pins, etc. FREE SHIPPING TO U.S. LOCATIONS! This is an old medical box found in an abandoned storage unit with Red Cross and other medical related supplies. Weight with supplies included is a little over 4 pounds. The box measures approximately 14 inches wide, 6-3/4 inches tall, and approx. 6 inches deep. Age, maker and origin are unknown. On top of the metal box, there is a hand painted medical caduceus symbol, the letters "VEAC", and the number "10". Also, on one side, the number "10" is painted. I don't know what the letters "VEAC" stand for, but some possibilities: "Vet/Veterans Emergency Assistance/Aid Center/Council"? Contents includes: 1) Johnson & Johnson / Red Cross boxes: unopened Gauze box (1 yard square); unopened Bandage box (4 inches, 10 yards); opened box of Cotton -looks full; opened box of 1 inch Bandage -less than half remains. 2) Bauer & Black items: opened box of Uniflex A-14 Ammonia Inhalant VIVO tubes -6 remain in box; 2 Handi-Tape bandages; opened box of 1 inch Bandage -less than half remains. 3) Other supplies: pack of Curity Handi-Snips - looks like these are small bandage strips; 12 Johnson & Johnson Gauze Pads; 1 large bandage. 4) Pins: 2 small Red Cross pins and 1 unidentified pin. Condition: Metal box shows lots of wear from age and use, with minor dings, scuff marks, peeling paint, and corrosion, but no significant damage. Bottom of box shows the most corrosion. Lid, hinges and locking mechanism all in good working order. NO KEY found for the lock. No attempt has been made to clean or restore - original state preserved. Usability of the supplies was not determined, but due to age and evidence of packaging wear, I assume they are not usable. The unopened boxes appear to be in very good condition, but some of the opened boxes have torn flaps. Bandages not in boxes have packaging that shows significant aging and some damage. The 2 Red Cross pins shows lots of wear and discoloration from age and use. The third pin could not be identified. All may have light corrosion on back side. Please examine the pictures provided, as they are an important part of the description.
