1920 Ica-Contessa Icarette 6x6 CM On 117 Roll Film 4.5x6 Plate 6.3 Tessar Good Condition

Condition: This Ica-Contessa “Icarette” is used, but is in good condition: the leather exterior shows some wear, and a piece is coming loose on the back (see photo)…the red window in the back is missing…the Compur Dial-Set shutter works at all speeds, and sounds fairly accurate…the Zeiss Tessar lens looks clear, but has some spots and what appears to be a very tiny bubble between the elements (not visible except with a magnifier)…the camera is a little hard to open, and closing the back is tricky-(make sure the edge of the  rear cover is inside the light block in the body)…the metal winding key is twisted, but still works…the area around the red window cover on the back of the camera is worn, and the cover is bent…the opening in the back for the 4.5 x 6 plates has some wear in the felt, and may not be completely light-tight (NO plates are included)…the 6 X 6 film opening is a bit rough, and needs to be smoothed…the lens board is a little hard to pull out-depress the two grips on the front and pull until it clicks…there is a small lever on the left side that changes the focus when using plates or film…the other side has the focusing lever.

Description: This Ica camera is made of metal with a leather covering…it was made by Ica Contessa, not Zeiss…it is a 6X6 CM on 117 film, and can also use 4.5 X 6 cut film plates (not included)…NOTE: This camera apparently uses #117 film instead of 120, as the 120 spool is too large (the 117 film spool is the size one made for 620, but the end holes are the same size as those for 120-simply modify two 620 reels and re-spool 120 film)…this Ica-Contessa Icarette camera measures 5” wide by 3” high by 1” deep (when folded) or 3 5/8” deep when opened…the shutter is a dial set Compur…the lens is a Tessar 1:6,3f=7.5 cm Nr 388206... The camera serial number,  H 29288, is also on the camera back

Notes:    Modify some film spools, replace the red window, and this vintage camera is ready to use!
