Magnesium Chloride

Magnesium is present in sea water and is required for photosynthesis, and is required by stoney corals for growth. Magnesium also has a function of maintaining the correct concentration of calcium and alkalinity. Over time levels will be depleted, and need replenishing. Magnesium chloride is used for raising magnesium levels in your reef tank. We do not recommend using it to maintain magnesium levels once the correct level is reached. For this we recommend using a blend of Magnesium chloride and Magnesium Sulphate, which we also have listed on Ebay.

We package the Magnesium chloride in individual 100g packs, so you only need to mix a small amount of solution at any one time.

All the ingredients we use are pharmaceutical grade, thus ensuring no unwanted chemicals are added to your water.

Mixing - dosing instructions.
Each 100g of magnesium chloride needs dissolving in 100ml of fresh water (RO water is what we recommend). 5ml of the resulting solution will raise magnesium levels by approximately 60ppm in 10L of salt water.
It is not recommend to raise magnesium levels by more than 50ppm per day.
