Bicycle BB30 - Bottom Bracket
Press Tool
This press consists of:
- x1 threaded bar 150mm long
- x2 17mm nuts,
- x2 20mm washers
- x4 50mm Plates
(x2 of the 50mm Plates have a special felt on one
side)
The felt serves 2 purposes:
- 1) it will protect your frame and cups from being damaged during
installation,
- 2) it will help you keep the washers central while pressing the cup/s into
the frame.
This is a bottom
bracket press tool suitable for pressing in bottom brackets to any
frame.
You do not need to
spend £40+ on a tool or pay your local bike shop to do it for you!
the tool is very simple to
use:
1) Remove one nut
and press plate
2) Put the threaded
bolt through the bottom bracket
3) Replace the nut
and press plate
4) Hold one nut
still with a spanner and tighten the other nut
This is exactly the
same concept as any commercial tool, just at a fraction of the price.
And is compatible with all press fit bottom brackets (BB30 etc)
Why spend £££ on commercial tools you
may only use a couple of times? This is a much cheaper alternative.

But the tools to do so, are very expensive, and its a job that cant really be done with basic tools which you may have in your toolbox.
For various different reasons people may also be unable to source the parts easily enough to build their own headset tools,
For example, people might be busy, or live in rural areas far from suitable shops, or far from a bicycle shop, etc.
So, i have decided i would produce various headset and BB installation tools, (which i often use myself)
Reasonably priced, these tools work in exactly the same way their commercial counterparts do, often better!, and at a fraction of their cost
