Pottery mark  -  Eiwa Kinsei  -  "Respectfully made by Eiwa".  "Modern ware, probably last quarter 20th. century" (Gotheborg).

Elegantly-shaped ginger jar extolling the virtues of Japan's "King of Flowers"  -  the paeony  -  symbol of good fortune, bravery and honour.

Typically finely-detailed and symmetrical only three colours are used  -  cobalt blue and terracotta for the floral clusters and light green for their foliage. Enhanced by meticulous gold-coloured band, outlines and accents.

Condition is excellent with no flaws. All gold-coloured gilding intact.
