This set of four elegant O&E.G. Royal Austria porcelain salt cellars have a soft pastel yellow hue with edges trimmed in matte gold.  All four are in superb condition: no cracks, no chips, no crazing, no stains.

Each piece is marked O. & E.G. Royal Austria with the word Royal inside a wreath.  The collector who owned these pieces had dated them circa 1890, but their mark dates them from 1898 to 1914.  Royal Austria used this mark for export pieces to English-speaking countries during that period.

Founded in 1889 in Altrolau, Bohemia, in the old Austro-Hungarian Empire (now Stara Role in the Czech Republic), Royal Austria company became O. & E. Gutherz Royal Austria in 1898.  After World War I, production moved to Austria itself, and the company became part of Austria's nationalized porcelain industry (OEPIAG).

We are also including an OEPIAG milk-glass salt cellar from the 1920s or 1930s.  It is pictured with the four O. & E. Gutherz Royal Austria in the second gallery photo as well as in the last three photos in the gallery. For the entire group of five pieces, we are asking only $33.50.  That's less than $7.00 for each of these vintage salt cellars.
