This is an 1800's Campaign Bed.  Officers would travel with such a bed during times abroad during a foreign campaign.  It is collapsible, and when it folds up, it looks like an object of art.  The iron has been cast into ornate French empire decorations.  This can be used as a day bed, guest room bed, or as an addition to a garden room or conservatory.  To lounge on such a bed is a truly unique experience as these do not come around too often.

There are two casters missing, but they can easily be replaced.  There are pins that need to go into four holes to keep it from folding up when you have it fully open, I only have one of those pins, and it might not be original, but it is what came with the bed when I acquired it. Shorter screws with nuts would do the trick. One curved metal piece is missing on one side of the bed. (Please see photos).

From tip of sleigh to tip of sleigh it measures approx. 77" long.  Where the mattress or padding would fit it measures approx. 34 3/4" wide and depending on how long you want your mattress it measures anywhere between 66 1/2" to 71" long inside.

What a wonderful unique item of interest this would make!  Please feel free to ask any questions, thanks for looking.

Free pick up.  We are located in Sullivan County, NY.  The car ride is just shy of two hours from NYC.  Delivery to All boroughs of NYC, Northern New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, and some parts of Connecticut can be arranged at an additional delivery fee.  Please contact me prior to bidding to get a quote on delivery if you choose to proceed with that option.

Our large item shipping is very expensive in this area of New York.  When folded, the bed measures approx. 4' high by 3' wide by about a foot deep, and weighs approx. 65 pounds.  You are welcome to contact any shippers in the area to get a price quote, but you would have to deal directly with them to arrange shipping.  They would have to pack and crate it as well.  I would work with the shippers to arrange a date and time for pick up and maybe even consider dropping it off if it's in within a reasonable driving distance away.
