For sale is an incomplete but original WWII German Feld Fu C radio.  According to the radio dataplate this radio was built in 1941 and has serial number 5915.  The Feld Fu C was a backpack radio set apparently used by combat engineers / pioneers until 1942, at which time they were then used for training purposes.  The transmit range for this radio was about 500 meters, and it was powered by a 2.4 volt nickel cadmium battery stored in the back of the radio transport case.  This radio comes equipped with a removable remote control device so the radio operator can operate the radio frequency and volume without having to remove the radio from his back.  The remote control device slides to the left when the operator is facing the radio faceplate, and it is missing the small leather strip the operator used to attach the remote device to a button on his tunic.  This radio also has two attachment points for headphones and one for a microphone.  Particulars of the radio are:
Weight - 7.4 pounds
Length - 3 1/2 inches
Width - 8 1/2 inches
Height - 11 inches
This radio has not been tested and is being sold "as is", and is not guaranteed to work in either a field or garrison environment. Sales tax will be charged for North Carolina Residents.  Photos courtesy Toadjumper Militaria
