This is a set of stabilized and dyed Curly Fiddleback Maple bookmatched knife scales from the Pacific Northwest. The scales each measure approx.   5/16" x 1 5/8" x 5 1/8"(+/- 1/32").  They have been professionally vacuum stabilized and oven cured.  Stabilized wood minimizes or eliminates: shrinking, cracking, checking, expanding, warping, will not absorb water, impervious to salt water, oils, stains, dyes and chemicals, sanding does not raise the grain, takes a very high polish, stands up to temperature changes.
It machines just like regular unstabilized material, but much better.  As with all natural wood products the scales may contain defects which can be repaired easily with wood dust and superglue. The scales have a light coat of sealer sprayed on them to show the potential finished look. Please note they were photographed with studio lights and may look different under various lighting (fluorescent, LED, incandescent, daylight etc.). If you are not happy with this product for any reason after you receive it, you may return it for a refund. I will combine shipping when ever possible. You will receive the knife scales shown in the photograph.
