THE EAGLES New Sealed 2017 UNRELEASED 1976 HOTEL CALIFORNIA TOUR LIVE CONCERT 2 CD SET

This new 2017 Double CD Set - featuring a fantastic Live Concert Recording Of An Early 'Hotel California' Tour show has the Eagles at their best and features all of the classic Eagles songs relesed at the time plus some great stuff from Joe Walsh's catalog too. The period 1975 - 1976 witnessed the Eagles soar to increasingly-dizzying heights. Their '75 album One Of These Nights had spawned no fewer than three Top 10 singles, with 'Lyin' Eyes' rewarding the group with their first ever Grammy. And while it would be the last record to feature founder-member Bernie Leadon, who now felt that his banjo and mandolin sounded out of place as the Eagles drifted further and further into rock territory, it did little to stunt their success. After Joe Walsh was officially announced as Leadon's replacement, the group put out Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975. The compilation became the best-selling record in U.S. history at the time - having since only been beaten by Michael Jackson's Thriller in 1982 - chalking up 29 million sales in the U.S. alone and 42 million worldwide. The Eagles were by now the most successful band of the decade, but their biggest successes were yet to come. On 8th December 1976, the Eagles released Hotel California, an album that requires little introduction. The record would result in a duo of No. 1 singles, the eponymous title track and 'New Kid In Town,' both of which received a Grammy, for Record of the Year and Best Arrangement for Voices respectively. The album itself was nominated for Album of the Year - just losing out to Fleetwood Mac's Rumours - selling 16 million units in the U.S. and over 32 million worldwide, and being named the 37th Greatest Album of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine. However, despite the Eagles looking just about unstoppable at this point, the record would in fact signal the beginning of the end for the band. The subsequent tour put great professional and personal strain on the group and - following founder member Randy Meisner's departure in 1977 and one more studio album, The Long Run, in 1979 - the Eagles split for the first time, and would not perform together again for 14 years.
