Serial Number 39044 indicates this was made in 1909.

Definitely the oldest typewriter I have ever owned!

This model has glass on the keys and the model has a copyright date of 1895 on the marked ruler bar. On the back it has all the dates of the model patents and it is easy to find sites with the full list of dates for every model number.

A tremendous Edwardian period design which will make a fabulous antique decorators piece or display item, and also a fantastic prop for any production set in the 1900/10s. There really can't be that many of these left in existence.

It is truly beautiful thing, and though I am not a professional photographer it was a real joy to photograph.

Sold as a display item or prop. It needs a service and new ribbon but I see no reason why with some care it could be returned to working order. I haven't done much more than clean off the dust and cobwebs, but just a few squirts of WD40 got the carriage from seized up completely to just about running smoothly and the space bar works some of the time now too. I have brushed off any loose rust underneath but it could easily be given a rust treatment. The lettering is worn off in places but still clear enough to read and some beeswax would shine up the lettering and enamel paint. Please remember it is over 100 years old though and has been used. Please look at ALL the photos. (Many more pics available on request.)

There are full instruction/maintenance manuals available to buy if you search the internet.
