If you have a Lapdock 500 Pro and want to turn it into a second monitor, or a "Pi-Top" with a Raspberry Pi, then this connector is a must have.

The Lapdock 500 Pro is unlike the Atrix Lapdock. It does not work with other devices simply by connecting the proper cables. The board and circuit requires a momentary short of the sense pin and the VCC pin, and also requires all pins to be connected to keep the screen powered on. This connector not only saves you the time of searching for the proper cables to connect the lapdock to your devices (female micro-hdmi to male HDMI, and female micro-USB to Male USB are difficult to find within the US), it will also allow you to have all connections together in one neat portable package.

The Connector Switch connects the Lapdock micro-HDMI and micro-USB port to your device via HDMI and USB. USB is used only for data transfer (mouse and keyboard) while HDMI will send video and audio to your Lapdock. This was tested with a MacBook Pro Retina and Raspberry Pi 3B and work amazingly (please see photos).

Directions:
1. Plug connector to the Lapdock cable connector
2. Plug in HDMI cable to the device
3. Plug in USB cable to the device
4. Make sure that device is on
5. Press button on the connector to power up Lapdock 500 Pro display

Note:
MacBook Pro and Lapdock 500 is not for sale. The connector comes with the necessary cables to connect the Lapdock to your devices.

If you own the Lapdock 500 Pro, then this cable is a must have to extend the life of your Lapdock.

Here is a short video of the early prototype of this connector powering on my Lapdock 500. I apologize ahead of time for the poor quality of the video.
