this type is very easy to fit, as it slides towards the centre of the runner to remove,

leaving only the back mounting plate fastened to the stair.(the last three photo's show how its done),

This makes moving the carpet up or down a little to avoid edge of tread ware, and makes stair painting easier, as there is not a clip to paint around as in the swivel type of fitting.
