An interesting and attractive original, antique, copper-engraved map of much of the world  by Alain Manesson Mallet and published in Frankfurt in c.1686. This map is from a German edition of Mallet’s ‘Description de l’Univers’. It's purpose is to show longitudinal lines and it also shows Europe, Africa, Asia, part of Australia and the Arctic and Antarctic Antarctica. It also includes the equator.

The condition is very good with light toning from age and handling as is to be expected in a 330 year old map. There is a noticeable age spot to the left edge of the sheet well away from the printed area. See photographs.
