This hat banding/uniform flashing (Duty Stripe) has been specifically manufactured for use by UK Security Officers. Its design is based on the black and white striped Duty Arm Bands once worn by many UK Police forces with some northern forces wearing it on their caps. This was eventually dropped and replaced with the now familiar chequered hat band. The security banding has been produced to the same high quality as the banding used by current UK emergency services with the colour being changed from black and white to black and silver-grey. This gives it a very distinctive and  professional look and also compliments the Security epaulettes and badges currently available on ebay that also feature the duty stripe in their design.
