Age / Size: Estimated to be around 1950 / 38mm diameter not including the crown

Case Condition:  This case rates right around VERY GOOD overall condition and is about as nice condition as you find one of these old Atlantic Chrome plated “Worldmaster” cases.

Case Metal: Chrome plated bezel, stainless steel screw down case back

Dial Condition: This dial is ORIGINAL and is showing a bit of wear- mostly in the form of a tiny (sized) spotting issue- tiny spots that are evenly spread out over the dial.  Other than that the dial looks pretty darn nice.  Cosmetic rating for this dial is GOOD PLUS to VERY GOOD.

Movement Type:  Atlantic SUPER with 21 Jewels and TWO Adjustments- this is a high quality base caliber ETA Caliber 1113 ebauche- a FINE quality mechanism!!

Working / Non-Working:  This watch does wind and set the time smoothly and the watch has kept time about THREE minutes SLOW over the 19+ hours that I have tested the watch sitting here on my desk.  That’s an okay timekeeping test result for a watch just coming out of long term storage with an unknown service history.  I do not own or use a digital diagnostic tool that gives exact seconds of timekeeping error per 24 hours- this watch was tested simply by being set against my computer clock and then checking back later on against the same clock- there can be some small error built into such testing.  IMPORTANT: I tested this watch three times and one of the times it had stopped before 18-20 hours had passed and the other two it ran with the above noted timekeeping error rate.  Given that I had one “stopped” result, it’s possible that this watch may need a servicing sooner than later in order to be a good reliable daily timekeeper.

Extra’s: Your bid in this auction is for the pictured 1950s era Atlantic WORLDMASTER Super DeLuxe OVERSIZED gents wristwatch- this watch measures a hefty 38mm diameter and that was really a LARGE sized watch back in the day when your average gents wristwatch diameter was 30 to 32mm!!  The case on this watch is about as nice as it gets for a chrome plated Atlantic case from the mid century period- this case rates at least VERY GOOD or better condition!!  The dial is original and presentable with the only issues being a light spotting issues- tiny spots on the dial that are evenly spread over it.  IMPORTANT: there is a small crack in the crystal near the edge at 4:00-5:00- the crystal should be replaced soon  The watch does wind and set the time smoothly and two of the three tests that I gave it the watch ran about 3 minutes SLOW over my 19-20 hour timekeeping test.  The other timekeeping test I came back to the watch after 22 hours and it was stopped.  Sometimes these old watches just need to be run some to “loosen up” after coming out of long term storage but other times a “stopped” timekeeping result can mean that the watch is coming due for a cleaning and oiling or some kind of watchmaker tinkering.  This watch is powered by a DESIRABLE base caliber ETA Caliber 1113 that features 17 Jewels and TWO Adjustments- a cut above normal mid grade Swiss quality!!  This watch comes with a brand new fancy grain 20mm wide black leather strap on it.  I have priced this watch to $ELL with a moderate opening bid and there is NO RESERVE- not many of these Atlantic Worldmasters have THIS movement in them!!  DO NOT miss out!!
