You are bidding on a rare pair of medals to Regimental Sergeant Major F FERGUSON, 3rd County of London (Sharpshooters) Imperial Yeomanry.

The medals are named:-

Queen’s South Africa Medal [CAPE COLONY/RHODESIA/ORANGE FREE STATE/TRANSVAAL/SOUTH AFRICA 1901] – 15440 SGT. F.FERGUSON, 75TH COY 18TH IMP: YEO.

Imperial Yeomanry Long Service & Good Conduct Medal (E-VII-R)– 206 R.SJT.MJR. F.FERGUSON. 3RD C.OF.L.(SHPTRS)I.Y.

The medals are in good condition, though with polishing to the QSA and possible correction to the number (though could be just polishing/wear) – the South Africa 1901 bar is loose as awarded. With copy Medal Roll for the QSA which confirms his entitlement.

Why is this rare? According to the book on the Imperial Yeomanry LS&GC Medal by John Tamplin, there were only 12 awarded to the Sharpshooters (this one awarded in 1906), and when coupled with the QSA with bar for Rhodesia and also to the Regimental Sergeant Major I believe it is a fair assertion.

Payment is to be made by Cheque or Paypal (both £GB). For multiple purchases shipping costs will be reduced if shipped together (please await your invoice). However, due to postal 'losses' in the past I will no longer ship to the continent of Africa.

Many thanks for your interest and good luck should you bid.
