Hofner 500/1 Vintage '62 Electric Violin Bass in excellent condition. It has a beautiful sunburst antique brown sunburst finish on its spruce top and flame maple sides and back. The pickguard and bottom of the neck cap are a nice pearloid. The bass has a vintage feel with a medium action and flatwound strings yet is still easy to play. The frets are in excellent condition. Paul McCartney first picked up a Hofner 500/1 Violin Bass in 1961, and by 1962 the Fab Four's bass player was fast on his way to turning this instrument into a staple of early rock.
