Revell-Monogram Inc., Diecast made in China under license from Morton Grove, IL, printing by Monogram USA. Featured is the iconic 62' Corvette from the 1960s CBS TV show, "ROUTE 66" where two men drive the US working at odd jobs, helping people, and searching for adventure. The show was filmed on location all across the USA, but ironically, rarely near the real Route 66 ! With the iconic theme music of Nelson Riddle, and starring Martin Milner and George Maharis, the television drama ran 116 episodes from October 7, 1960 to March 20, 1964.
This is the factory completed metal body, plastic part model utilizing the originating 2002 diecast tool in 1/25 scale, of the '62 Vett Convertible complete with the figures from the show, Ted Stiles and Buz Murdock. The originating 2002 kit did not have the show figures and it was a metal body kit, not as this, a completed model with display stand.
Revell Factoid: The driver in this model is clearly Martin Milner or his character Tod Stiles. The figure on the right is a generic passenger as Revell could not obtain a license from George Maharis for a representation of the Buz Murdoch character. No where on the box will you find a picture of George Maharis or his character Buz Murdoch. You have to paint his hair black by yourself !
(Courtesy note: The color picture of the TV cast used within the pictures is not part of this sale. It is included as kit reference only.)
