Aurora Kit No.350-249, HC-1B Chinook Helicopter, 1/48, MIB & *BONUS*, 1961

Aurora Plastics Corp., kit made in West Hempstead, L.I. New York, printing by Aurora USA.    This is the 1961 re-box of the 1961 "first tool" and first Aurora release of the HC-1B Chinook Helicopter.  Although dated 1961, the absence of the "Famous Fighters" in the Aurora oval indicates that the kit was on the shelves in the early 60's and the selling price was $2.49 instead of the initial release at $1.98.

  • Inventoried 100% Complete, parts still on sprues, those that are not are ziplock sealed. 
  • *BONUS*, two sets of identical vintage decals, in the first purchased Chinook.

Very large 1/48 scale kit with good cockpit and rotor detail, moving rotors, clear side and cockpit windows and full decals.The boxart in classic Jo Kotula form shows an operational Chinook being loaded with a tactical US ARMY rocket, soon to join another Chinook in the close pattern flyby. Protected by mortar launching US ARMY troops, the artwork is stamped with the Aurora sunburst logo over the yellow high plain terrain. Their motto: "You call, we haul. We fly anything, anytime, anywhere."
