This custom designed HO Scale 3D printed kit contains parts for 2 GS Gondolas as rostered by the Denver & Rio Grande Western (D&RGW) in the 70000 number series, commonly referred to as “offset” gondolas. These cars were built in 1922, at 46ft long, with a 70 ton rating, and had the distinctive outside clasp trucks.

Included for EACH car:

(1) 3D printed resin one-piece carbody with AB brakes built in
(2) 3D printed resin Vulcan outside clasp 70 ton trucks
(2) laser-cut styrene coupler pocket covers
(4) 2-56 black oxide screws for coupler and truck attachment
(1) Kadee Ajax brakewheel
(1) Custom decal sheet for the Post-1940 “Flying” Rio Grande lettering
(1) Lead metal bar for ballast weight
(4) Exactrail Semi-Scale (.088”) wheelsets
(1) Instruction Sheet

The kit does not include paint or couplers, but the coupler pockets are sized for Kadee whisker couplers.

The decal sheet includes numbering and special lettering for the 80000 series cars in limestone service on the Monarch branch.

As stated before, this listing is for TWO (2) of these kits, packaged in one box for a discount. Single kits will be available in a different listing.

I started this project as a way to build a fleet of D&RGW gondolas that are not commonly available, and along the way I've had enough interest (and spare components) to create and offer a kit in the way I like to see.  The main components are 3D printed on a Form 2 3D printer, and I've tried to balance the strength of the resin and the amount of durable detail for the cars, thus the grab irons and details are of the cast-on type.
