AURORA Kit No.60-98, CONVAIR XFY-1 "POGO" 1/48 scale, Original Tooling, Vintage 1956

Aurora Products Corp. kit made in West Hempstead, L.I., N.Y.,  printing by Aurora, USA,  Decal set from "The Tatem Company".  This is the first issue of the Aurora POGO as identified from the 1953 - 1956 rectangular Aurora Line "Sunrise" logo. This kit, as defined within the instruction sheet, is one of the fifteen aircraft being kitted by Aurora in 1956.  The the box art shows the working concept of counter-rotating prop POGO, vertically rising from its takeoff position, to join an already level flight POGO on close flyby.

  • 20 piece Plastic Model Kit in glossy aluminum and tinted green clear part for the canopy.
  • Box Condition: Bright, excellent condition, but with crunch damage to the top box and a split along side. 
  • Inventoried 100% complete with all parts decals and instructions. The kit has never been started.  
  • Model size  Length 7.76in. x Wing Span 6.36in.
  • Dated 1956 with the rare rectangular Aurora logo and 'Famous fighters of all Nations' identifier.
  • Scale identified as 1/4" scale which equates to conventional 1/48 .
  • Non-smoker home 

Kit includes molded in pilot figure, counter rotating propellers, detailed landing gear, full color U.S. NAVY Decals.   The kit establishes the 1950's tooling details of scribed air frame lines, rivets, access cover details and decal placement features.
