A plate groove is a groove cut across the shelf length to aid in displaying plates.
The bottom length of the mantel is 7" shorter than the top of the mantel.
The bottom depth is 3 1/2" less than the top depth.
All lengths and depths are 6" tall.
You will find the best value in the odd depths, because we get better utilization of the material vs. the even depth dimensions.
The entire mantel/shelf is 100% RED OAK… guaranteed so be cautious when comparison-shopping! No oak plywood, mdf (Medium Density Fiberboard) or veneers like so many others on ebay. Options:
This mantel/shelf is unfinished so you can paint or stain it as you wish! It comes completely sanded and ready for paint or finishing.
