DESCRIPTION: Our Dreams Silk Range has a base fabric of a 2 ply silk dupion using a high grade Chinese dupion silk yarn in the weft (width of the fabric). Due to minimal slubs in the high grade Chinese dupion yarn this silk is relatively smooth though softer than Pure Silk Taffeta. It feels like a soft silk taffeta. A Taffeta silk has more threads per inch in the length of the fabric giving it a stiff feel.
The colours look very rich giving it beautiful sheen. This silk has a slight texture to it. The fabric width is 54inch/137 cms. The cost of a silk fabric is determined by the weight, grade of yarn used, weave, and design. .
QUANTITY AVAILABLE: If you need a larger quantity than listed please contact us. As we have clients buying directly we have listed a limited quantity. Therefore, we may have more quantity than listed or maybe expecting some soon.
USES: This silk is suitable for making up cushion covers, soft furnishings, clothing and crafts. We do not recommend this fabric for upholstery unless it is more of a showpiece and does not have a lot of usage.
CARE: We recommend dry cleaning.
It is advisable to get a sample prior to ordering fabric as despite our best effort the picture does not always reflect the correct shade. Certain colours seem to be difficult for the camera to capture. Maybe our camera is not as good as our silks!!
SAMPLES: There are two sizes of samples cuts we offer. Please click on samples box on the left side of our home page and follow the procedure stated.
Also, on offer is a shade card which has small cuttings of all the 24 colours in Dreams Silk 54”/137 cms wide that we try to stock regularly.
IF MORE THAN 0.5 MTR/ONE UNIT IS BOUGHT IT WILL BE SENT AS CONTINOUS FABRIC AND NOT CUT AS HALF METRE PIECES.
COMBINED POSTAGE: If you want a combination of colours or silks please note that we can combine the postage and reduce the cost of postage. You shall need to buy whatever you need, not pay for it and we shall combine the postage and send an invoice.
PACKAGING AND POSTING: Up to 2 kg will be posted flat packed by Royal Mail small packets. Approx. 10 to 14 metres would weigh 2 kg depending on the silk bought. More than 2 kg will be sent by courier. The courier cost would be £12.00 within UK and £18.00 for Northern Ireland. Regarding courier costs for outside of UK please contact us.
