EE 611 Bridge Installation Kit for the 7186 Marklin Maerklin Märklin HO Turntable

Often the bridge of the 7186 turntable will work fine in some quadrants but gets stuck in others. The problem is often with the contact fingers not making good electrical connection with the slip rings, or with a poor ground (the center pin provides the ground to the bridge.)

· Eckert Engineering offers this kit 611 to hopefully correct this problem.

o Also when the bridge was first removed, it is possible that the original “E” clip flew across the room and is now lost.

o It is also possible that the tension washer wasn’t even noticed when the bridge was removed; and thus fell off and was not reinstalled.

· EE’s Kit 611 has these items:

o A 40164 tension washer

o A 60803 “E” clip

o A small packet of electrically conductive graphite grease

o Instruction sheet showing the assembly sequence and where to apply VERY SMALL amounts of the conductive grease

About Eckert Engineering

Timothy Eckert started playing with Marklin Maerklin Märklin HO when he was 5 years old; his father's job with RCA sent him to Germany on a regular basis and he always came home with Märklin trains in his suitcase! One set of used Märklin passenger cars bought at a garage sale were some 351 cars, including two of the Kolls 351F version with the prohibited swastika on the sides. After 20 years of play, it was realized how collectible these cars were and they were traded for a large lot of K track, signals and cash. The Märklin signals were more important than the cash, as playing with and understanding them opened up the world of automatic train control (ATC) for Tim. He has spent much time since building signal controllers and playing with the finer points of ATC! Eckert Engineering was created with Märklin, Signals, and Digital Power Supplies (i.e., 600 watts of Digital Power!!) at the forefront. Tim's day job as an engineer in the nuclear commercial power industry helped give him the electrical engineering know-how necessary, and no, he does not glow at night. Now after 20 years, it’s time to start a slow turnover of Eckert Engineering to his children Andrew and Christy before the beer truck takes him out. Each day we have the apprentices learning from the master yet another aspect of the wonderful world of Märklin Trains!!
