This is a reproduction skull of a big male clouded leopard which is cast in durable urethane plastic. Length is 7 5/16" (18.5cm), width is 4 5/8" (11.5cm). The clouded leopard is a medium sized cat that has the longest upper canine teeth proportionate to its size of any living cat. The canines on this cast are almost 1 3/4" long, which is exceptional considering the clouded leopard only weighs about 55 pounds or a bit less. The skull is the size of that of a small mountain lion, even though the animal's body is more similar to that of a very large bobcat or lynx. The clouded leopard is said to have a big cat's head on a small cat's body. The outsize canines are thought to help it take down pretty large prey, like wild pigs. It has also been known to prey successfully on young and female orangutans.
