Rare Mexican Horn Handle, PDL Solingen bladed sword

To the best of my knowledge these blades and Iron Guards where ordered by The Mexican Army from P.D.Luneschloss of Solingen.
(see hallmark pic)

The high quality blade and guard where “assembled in Mexico” as many items are still today!

Wood was hard to come by in Mexico the handles where made with horn or bone, elk etc as there was an abundance of these.

What is really interesting about this sword is these are quite unusual to find a full length Mexican Army Sword as the Mexican Army tended to shorten their swords for comfort.
(The average Mexican soldier in the early 19 Century was not Magic Johnson or Larry Bird)

This sword appears to follow the 1833 DRAGOON SABER Pattern.
I believe this sword saw action in the Mexican war on the losing side!
