This is a thermostat spacer for the Yamaha RD350 YPVS engine that allows you to change the standard
71°c thermostat for a 50°c one. It is needed as the 50°c type are slightly longer and will not fully open without
this spacer. It is recommended for anyone running a tuned engine or for track days.
The spacer is manufactured from billet aluminium and one side is machined to accept an "O" ring which is included.
There is no need for instant gasket or the like when fitting as the rubber seal on the thermostat seals on one side
as per standard and the "O" ring seals to the cylinder head.
I had a 22°c drop in average running temperature on my bike when this was used in conjuction with an oversized
radiator. Cooler consistent running allows for more accurate jetting and reduces the noticable drop off in power as the
temperature of an engine rises. The general consensus is that ideally want your engine to run between 50°c &
60°c which you are never going to do with the standard thermostat opening at 71°c.
This listing is for one spacer and the longer A2 stainless steel caphead setscrews required for fitment.

The bottom photograph is the spacer fitted to my engine for reference and is definitely not included!!
