Replacement ultra brite SMD LED pop-up stylus lamp, designed to fit as the original bulb with no modification and will last much longer than the old neon filament bulb (100,000-200,000 Hrs compared with 2,000-4,000 Hrs for the neon bulb)
Most other LED stylus light kits available for the SL-12XX series use a standard 5mm LED fitted facing directly up to the top inside of the tower cover. This is fine for the SL-12XX MK5 series as they are fitted with a 45° reflector mirror but the earlier series do not have a reflector fitted, so 95% of the LED's power will be lost at the top inside of the light tower. The viewing angle of 5mm LED's is also very narrow, usually around 20-30° so mounting a 5mm LED vertically inside the pop-up light tower means only a tiny portion of the LED's light power actually reaches the stylus and record surface. The XteX designed micro SMD LED stylus light has a super bright surface mounted micro chip LED with wide angle lens mounted on a very small PCB inside the light tower facing DIRECTLY towards the stylus point for maximum illumination. All voltage regulating components are also fitted to the PCB so the SMD LED assembly can be easily fitted as the original bulb is wired without the need for messy additional "in-line" components.
