Pssst... Hey buddy... C'mere a sec. ... I got something to show you... I don't know about you, but we're about sick of replacing the tweeters on our beloved NS1000's. Google Yamaha NS1000 tweeter... and you will soon discover that the Achilles' heel of these wonderful speakers are their tweeters. So we developed these... Tweeter protectors designed specifically for your fantastic but delicate Yamaha beryllium tweeters. ONE PAIR PROTECTS ONE PAIR OF SPEAKERS! They are about as difficult to install as a new roll of TP! (you will need a #2 phillips screwdriver , a small bladed screwdriver, wire strippers (a pair of scissors will suffice in a pinch) and a friend to hold the tweeter while you operate on them.). You can get the aforementioned items at your local dollar store on the way to the liquor store, maybe even the friend as well... First let me say that we are big on sound quality... We didn't want to sit around listening to music wondering if the newly installed tweeter protectors were compromising the sound quality somehow. Heaven forbid, that would be as bad as listening to music wondering and worrying if we were about to blow up another tweeter! We tried many devices and these tied for first place with a simple 1 amp fuse (Buss brand in a high quality holder of course). We highly recommend that you at the very least go the fuse route if you already have that sort of thing laying around. Of course, we feel we have a better way. You install them once and forever forget about them as they are self resetting. Once you score a pair of these beauties you can play with them for awhile by putting them in series with any full range speaker to get a feel how they work (and sound) before installing them in series with your tweeters. You will find them to limit volume smoothly and suddenly. Next I would like to say that we like music loud at times... Here we feel the NS 1000's are king. Uncommonly clear, powerful and dynamic. This will remain unchanged with the installation of your tweeter protectors. The only thing missing will be that nagging feeling that you will be shopping for a replacement tweeter soon...
