A Pair of Ornate Silver Salts by Maurice Freeman London 1898

w/ Cranberry Liners & with a pair of later spoons 


A pair of cased ornate oval Victorian silver salts raised upon four scroll legs with pierced foliate decoration, cranberry glass liners and with clear hallmarks.

Also a pair of later hallmarked silver spoons which go well with the salts but are not original to the set also with clear hallmarks.

The glass liners are in super order.

Makers stamps to salts for Maurice freeman.

Salts hallmarked for London 1898.

Salts 5.3 cm long by 4.1 cm wide & 3.6 cm tall.

Spoons by C.T.Burrows & Sons hallmarked Birmingham 1904.

Total silver weight (liners removed ) app. 70 g.

Supplied with case as shown.

The spoons are a pair and look very good with the salts, but do not originally belong with them as a set (they are 6 years later and not the same maker). There is some patina on the salts internal surface (please see the photos). The case has some wear mainly on the lid.
