Description of item for sale:

This painting of two peasants with their dog and sheep is from Europe and dates to 1773.  The painting is clearly signed J. B. Wayhemans and dated 1773.  This painting has recently undergone a major archival restoration and has been mounted to new stretcher bars.  With the restoration, this is in excellent antique condition for its age.  There is, of course, minor crazing in the painting, but the colors are very vibrant and will be for years to come.  The frame is new and more than likely added when the painting was restored.   Dimensions: 43" tall, 35" wide and 2" thick in its frame.  The canvas size is 35.5" tall and 27.5" wide.  (4436)
