antique 10k Gold amethyst gemstone solitaire Ring Victorian size 6.25

c. late 1800s to early 1900s, an antique 10 karat gold amethyst solitaire ring ♥

this has a lovely sleek profile, with an old-cut amethyst stone in a claw-prong setting. It's unmarked for gold content, which is common for American jewelry made before 1906, but has been tested and is guaranteed to be solid 10 karat gold. It does have a very tiny maker's mark on the inside which looks like P something or F something.

The stone tests as a genuine amethyst on my Presidium gem tester, and it has a wonderful deep violet color. When I bought this, I was so overcome by its antique loveliness that I failed to notice the chips on the edge of the stone, but they are there and can easily be seen in the magnified photos. I would have bought it anyway, although I might have been able to bargain for a lower price! But there they are, so I've lowered the price accordingly, even though to the naked eye, this ring is a beauty ♥

It weighs 1.4 grams and fits a US ring size 6.25. The stone measures approximately 6.1mm in diameter and 3.75mm height for an estimated total carat weight of .67 carats. Please note the box shown in the first picture is only for display, although this will be sent in a presentation box suitable for gift-giving. Ships via USPS and will be wrapped with care and mailed within one business day ♥

some helpful "fine print" ...
