There seems to be much debate about what exactly constitutes a 1st press of this LP. To the best of our knowledge this record has had one owner since new (until it came to us) and was part of a large classic rock collection.  We are selling this exactly as it came to us and are providing as much information as we can so you can make your own mind up - if you have any doubts or questions please contact us prior to making a purchase so we can try and help.


This copy has the following matrix/stamper numbers:

SHVL 804 A-2 2 OG
SHVL 804 B-2 2 O 

The label is the Solid Blue Triangle which was dropped later in favour of a more simple outline. The sleeve is what we believe to be the correct stickered midnight blue version which is of gatefold type and open on both sides. Comes with correct black poly lined inner sleeve which has 'Made In Great Britain' and 'Patent Nos. 1125555 1072844' in a silver text printed upon it.

This copy comes 2 EX stickers which have 'Crack Back',  'Bend On Line' and 'FasPrint Removable' in green on the rear as well as diagonal brown stripes running through them ... the rear of one of the stickers is slightly faded. 

This copy also has the 2 posters also in EX condition (both of which have a slightly glossy finish to them). 

All in all a great complete copy!

GRADING: All of our records are graded using the standard UK Record Collector Grading system as follows:

  • MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
  • EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
  • VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
  • GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
  • FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
  • POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
  • BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.

POSTAGE AND PACKING: Items will be sent in strong protective packing, using purpose designed mailers where possible. We take care to make sure that the vinyl and inner bag are always removed from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits, and the vinyl itself will be placed in a soft plastic cover to protect it during transit.
