ANTIQUE CAST IRON THREE-LEG HANGING SPIDER SKILLET WITH POT HOOK

This is an early to mid nineteenth century spider skillet with a pot hook. It can be hung using the pot hook or by placing it directly over a fire.

This old cast iron skillet sits on three 2" long legs and is 11-5/8" in diameter at the top rim x 6-5/8" tall with an interior depth of 4-1/2". It features a clean interior and exterior, an embossed 12, and a gatemark on the bottom. The double ears are used to attach the pot hook and both are structurally sound. The pot hook is 19-1/2" long and will open to accommodate kettles, skillets etc up to 27" in diameter.

Both pieces remain in good condition. The skillet shows some pitting on all surfaces, but only minimal pitting on the interior bottom. The legs are evenly worn and it sits level on any flat surface.

A great early skillet with an appropriate size pot hook that is clean and ready to use or bring authenticity to your hearth.
