Rare and beautiful Japanese sterling silver ice tongs. Almost certainly for ice been far too robust for sugar. They are marked STERLING. I would date them to c1920. They have been superbly made having bamboo style arms with unusually large round grips also decorated with bamboo. They are in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. They measure over 4.75 inches (12.4cms) long by over 1.5 inch (4.2cms) across their grips and weigh an impressive 60 grams. Quality rare examples.
