Windpferd:
In
der schamanistischen Tradition Zentralasiens gilt das Windpferd als
Allegorie für die menschliche Seele. Im Tibet steht das Pferd für Reisen
mit höchster Geschwindigkeit sowie für die Transformation vom Unglück
zum Glück und von Armut zu Wohlstand. Das Windpferd verkörpert das
Element Erde sowie Gleichmut. Das flammende Juwel (Norbu Mebar) auf
seinem Rücken symbolisiert die drei Juwelen des Buddhismus: Buddha,
Dharma und Sangha. Im tibetischen Buddhismus wurde das Windpferd als
zentrales Element in die Mitte der vier allegorischen Tiere
der Himmelsrichtungen (Tiger/Süden, Schneelöwe/Osten, Garuda/Norden, Drache/Westen) übernommen.

the shamanic traditions of Central Asia, the wind horse represents the
human soul. In Tibet, the horse symbolizes travelling at the highest of
speeds.
It also stands for the transformation of misfortune into fortune and of
poverty into wealth. The wind horse represents the element of earth and
equanimity. The flaming jewel (Norbu Mebar) on its back symbolizes the
three jewels of Buddhism: Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.
In
Tibetan Buddhism, the wind horse has been adopted as the pivotal element
that is located at the centre of the four allegorical animals
representing the four points of the compass (tiger/South, snow
lion/East, Garuda/North, dragon/West).
