Description
A fantastic early Victorian period sterling silver snuff box.
Made by one of the most famous female silversmiths Elizabeth Eaton.
Rectangular piece with engine turned pattern to top and bottom with ridged finish to sides and floral catch.
Engraved to the inside of lid 'George Pennymore Esq on his leaving The Coldstream Guards from Captain Hon H.W. Campbell'
Hallmarks ; lion, leopard head, date letter f, makers initials, Queen Victoria's head
Size ; 74mm x 44mm x 18mm approx
Weight ; 82.1 grams
Condition ; Very good for age. Crisp pattern in general, some light wear, patch to base has worn fully. Initials to cartouche and engraved inside. Crisp hallmarks. General marks and scratches inside. Please view photographs.
