Looking for a fully stable, secure R Hop / ER Hop patch kit ?

Want an even quicker & easier drop-in way to install one with minimal Hassle ?

Can't be bothered to spend forever sanding & forming the outside of the patch to eventually get it to fit correctly ?

Then look no further, the ReadyHop is your answer !

If you're an expert in airsoft modifications and upgrades then you'll probably well know that installing an R-Hop takes a lot of time and a lot of patience. The rewards however are well worth it, as any Airsofter who's had one installed will tell you on the field. So, what are the benefits ?

Significantly improves range

Increases accuracy & tracjectory stability of your BBs

Allows you to use much heavier BB weights (.3g or above)

Provides more consistent and better backspin on BBs

Creates much better airseal for your rubber bucking

But, the thing is – what if you're a newbie to Airsoft modifications, haven't got the time to carefully sand the patch down to fit the barrel window so that it's totally flush or are worried about the skill level required to install an R hop patch ?

Maybe you haven't got the cash to pay a technician to do it for you, so you want to give it a go yourself ?

Well, the ReadyHop might just be able to help !

As the name suggests, the Readyhop is pretty much 99% ready to drop-in and install into your window. It is very similar indeed to the very popular » HSA ER-Hop Z-Kit

Now don't get me wrong, the HSA Z-Kit is an amazing bit of kit, I have installed them myself and they are very well made, effective and I would highly recommend them for advanced Airsoft techs. But they do require a fair bit of intense sanding and also a bit of extra skill & work to install them correctly

If you view the » Z-Kit installation guide video you'll notice at about 1:18, the narrator talks about the patch being raised up slightly, creating a small gap which then needs to be filled with some kind of gelatinous substance like RTV or silicone compound. This sounds easy, and the video is titled "Foolproof", but I can tell you from experience it's really not as easy as it sounds. Firstly, it's messy and if you get any of the RTV inside the barrel, it's a pain to get out. Secondly, it takes 24 hours to dry so not that great if you want the R Hop done quick. And thirdly, there's no guarantee the RTV will even keep the patch in place. When I was installing using this method, even fairly gentle sanding of the the patch actually ripped it straight out of the window, which was highly irritating and so I was back at square one. In the end the method I used was to use Krazy glue to stick down small strips of thin plastic to the barrel window sides in order to raise the patch up a bit and then more glue to stick on the patch – which then required skilful sanding to get it flush to the barrel. This method is more effective in my opinion but it took time

Now, with the ReadyHop, *in theory* you shouldn't actually have any of the above problems !

For the gaps issue – why do we need to fill-in those gaps ? Why are there even gaps there in the first place ? Why can't the patch have a bit more material so there are no gaps ? There are all questions I asked myself about the HSA Z-Kit

Therefore, with the ReadyHop – the patches I provide are still cut to different sizes like the Z-Kit, but do in fact provide a bit more material on the larger sized ones, so it should be able to get fitted with no annoying gaps to fill. No RTV needed, no compounds, no glue

For the sanding issue – sanding takes time, patience, skill and is difficult to get right. It's fine if you're an expert in tech work, but even then sometimes things can go wrong. With the ReadyHop, there is very little sanding, if any needed at all !

Why ? ...because the thickness of the walls of the ReadyHop patches almost EXACTLY matches the same thickness of *most* Airsoft barrels. It literally is the same thickness. I know, because I have installed these into my own Hopup units and with very careful, precise cutting – I can match these perfectly into my barrel windows, with no glueing, no gaps and when the bucking was placed over the top and inserted into the hop unit, there was no patch intrusion inside. None. Therefore zero sanding was required to get it to fit flush to the barrel

The test of whether an R Hop has been correctly installed is that on the lowest hop setting, you should be able to drop a BB down the barrel and it should drop straight down and onto the floor without any effort or stopping. If it jams, then you've got more sanding to do. I got no jams with these patches, period. I did no outside sanding of the patch at all and it worked great !

Not only that, but I'm not just providing 3 patches, I'm actually providing a whopping 10 patches in total. Each pair of patches is made from slightly different (but quite similar) materials and are slightly different in size and thickness as well in order to best suit your individual needs and experimentations. They are all very similar Z Kit patches and you have multiple chances to get it done just right for your hop unit !

The black patches are extra thick, so if you do need a thicker patch to sand down, you can still do that. The other patches should be thin enough not to require sanding down to size. A certain level of skill is required to get these to fit & work just right, but it can be done

OK, so you've made the decision to try the ReadyHop, what now ?

Well, although these patches are even easier to install that the Z-Kit – there is however some minor work still needed to install them. I would advise getting some sharp scalpel blades with scalpel, a small cutting mat, and some fine 500 grit sandpaper. Yes, there is *some* sanding involved, but it is minor. Oh, and it'd probably be a very good idea to get hold of a short 6mm diameter rod to insert into the window end barrel before you do anything. If it's too loose, wrap a bit of masking tape around it so that it stays put, but also check that it's not too tight either. You should be able to slide the short rod back and forth. You may even be able to install the patch without a 6mm rod, but it will certainly help. Search Ebay for "6mm rod" and you'll find something out there cheap !

After this, cut the patch to size. This is the main skill bit. Cut the length to fit your barrel window and then also cut the sides to get exactly the right height as well. Remember this : SMALL slithers, a bit at a time, cut very small amounts off each time and then keep checking if it's the right fit. It's very easy to cut a bit more off – but once it's off, it's off. You can't undo it or grow it back so be careful or you'll regret taking too much away. Go slowly

When you cut the sides away, keep the angle as horizontal as possible so you get nice flat edges pressing down against the barrel window sides. Take a look a the O letter in the ReadyHop logo to see what I mean about that – that demonstrates it perfectly. You want that shap on your final patches to be inserted

The final thing you need to do is radius the insides of the patch. Sounds complicated, it's not ! Take your fine 500 grit sandpaper, wrap it around a pen or something and on the inside of your patch (where the BB will touch and run along) – see those sharp corners and sharp edges ? Very slowly, carefully and gently, rub those away with the sandpaper. A nice, gentle, smooth, gradual action. Wear down the sharp corners and sharp edges on both sides in order to stop any pinch jams. They need to be rounded off and only do those edges and corners, nothing else

Once that's done, you should be finished ! In theory you won't need to sand or shape the outside of the patch at all, just drop in and go. No need to glue or use RTV either, because you should have no gaps (that's down to your own skill and precision with cutting there !)

I have tried these patches in my own AEGs and the results are amazing, just as good as the Z-Kit in my opinion, using almost exactly the same kind of material and 10 patches to try out at your leisure

Any problems ? Need to ask a question ? Want more advice ?

Don't be afraid to ask, I'd be happy to help out – why not give the ReadyHop a try and see how easy it is to install !
