I Love You Because I Hate Myself is actually the name of a song by San Jose, CA based Monstrauss. The illustration that accompanies it is from a picture we saw in a book that came from a Russian asylum that was abandoned in the early part of the 20th century. 

The photograph was digitally redrawn with added textures to bring this poor, demented soul's art into a new era and make it something that could be reproduced. It is haunting and goes well with the thoughts expressed in the song.
