50 of 1.6mm x 1000mm Bronze TIG Welding / brazing rods, SIFSILCOPPER 968 or of identical composition.

These are copper based welding rods, which contain 3% silicon and 1% manganese (hence CuSi3Mn1) generally used for Tig welding bronze and other copper alloys. In particular, these are an excellent colour match for Silicon bronze, so are often used in the art foundry / sculpture casting industry.

These rods are also very popular for ‘Tig Brazing’ steels, surfacing steel and joining dissimilar metals. Due to their high copper content, these rods can be used on a much lower current, or lay down welds much faster than regular steel rods - often used on galvanised metals and cast iron where lower temperatures are required. Additionally, using lower welding currents can be beneficial in reducing parent metal distortion. Due to their higher corrosion resistance compared with steel rods, they are often used in offshore industries.

Possible to use with Oxy/Acetylene for fusion welding of bronze etc, but needs to be used in conjunction with SIF Sil copperflux powder.

These rods are from a larger pack which I am breaking into smaller amounts, so please note that the rods will not come in their original packaging, they will however be very securely packaged!
